Supermaven Adds Chat

We're excited to announce Supermaven Chat: the best way for developers to use GPT-4o, Claude 3.5 Sonnet, and other chat models.

Supermaven Chat is for anyone who's copy-pasted code into ChatGPT. It lets you easily upload and edit your code while staying in your editor.

Chat is designed to help you be more productive by using hotkeys to efficiently start conversations, upload files, request edits, and apply changes.

Here's an example of using Supermaven Chat to add documentation to a function. We request the edit using Cmd+I and apply it with Esc+A.

Supermaven Pro users can use Chat at no additional charge. There are no usage limits - if you exceed your monthly free credits, we'll charge you for the additional usage. You can view your remaining credits in your account or by pressing the gear icon in the Supermaven editor plugin.

If you're a Free Tier user, you can use Chat by providing your own OpenAI or Anthropic API key.

Here, we upload our file and request a change to it. Supermaven Chat automatically associates the model's response with the section of our file that it's editing, allowing us to display the diff and apply the changes in one click.

Supermaven Chat complements our existing inline completion functionality - the fastest of any copilot - and is available in our VS Code and JetBrains plugins:
